Evaluation Question 4 (draft)

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Media technologies were a big part of our project through all of the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages.
During the research stages we used websites such as Youtube and Vimeo to look at various clips from different texts quickly so we could get as much information as possible. We then recorded our research and our ideas onto blogger which which allowed us to show each other our ideas and individual research and to other classmates who could comment back on our ideas providing their own ideas for our project. This was useful as it helped our ideas develop as quickly as possible and much more than if we had just researched alone trapped in our own heads.

Also during the planning stages we used blogger to show how we were planning our project with posts about risk assessments, costume ideas, Mise en scene and Character profiles. We also posted storyboards to show the basic structure of the idea of our music video and we combined these with I.Movie to create an animatic show our idea in a moving sequence with he music we had chosen in the background. This provided our audience with a much more detailed image of what our media product was going to look like. From this we were able to gain valuable feedback as to what ideas would work or not.

Media technologies were also used in the construction stages where we used Cameras to film our product along with different lighting sources which we used for a few scenes just in case if the lighting in a certain area wasn't right or if we just needed specialist lighting for a particular scene. We also used our phones to take pictures of the set whilst filming, these we posted on our blogs to show our stages of production showing our audience that we were in the process of filming. We used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit our product with which was easy to use and gave us plenty of options for what we could do with the rhythm of the edited clips. I also used social media tools to help show our audience that we were in the process of filming with apps like snapchat, which showed pictures of behind the scenes work that we were doing.

In the evaluation stages I was sure to use as many media technologies as possible for a wide range of presentation techniques. I used sites such as Emaze and Prezi to construct detailed presentations on certain aspects of my media project just so that just blank word documents didn't look so boring to look at and read. However I did use blogger to share these presentations on to my audience and assessors and I used blogger to draft my answers for the evaluations to show my thought processes for when I was evaluating my project.
